The National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for scholarly content(N-LIST) is proposed to be built around electronic resources subscribed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium for the universities and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium for technical institutions (IITs, IISc and NITs). The project envisages providing access to electronic resources to the three sets of institutions.

The INFLIBNET Centre would work as a nodal agency and as a National Monitoring Agency for execution of the project. The INFLIBNET Centre, would take-up the responsibility of providing access to subscribed e-resources to Govt. / Govt.-aided colleges through a set of proxy servers deploying appropriate authorization and authentication mechanisms.
