Kubo Gap as a Factor Governing the Emergence of New Physicochemical Characteristics of the Small Metallic Particulates

Abstract

We have made a critical and comprehensive review on the dependence of physicochemical properties on the Kubo gap of the small metallic particulates. A correlation has been made between the Kubo gap and the different groups of elements in the periodic table forming the nanoparticles. The criterion of metallicity and thereafter, a transition from metal to non-metal has been elucidated.
