Ans.1: Steps to take Screen Shot (Get PDF)

First minimize all the windows and open only that window of which Screen-Shot is desired

On the Keyboard's Top Right Hand Side one Button is there look likes,

Press this button when desired window is ready.

Open Micorosft Paint from Start => All Programs => Accessories => Paint

Go to Edit Menu => Click Paste

Go to File Menu => Click Save

Save the file on appropriate location

Attach this file in E-mail and send to the SOUL Support Cell on soulhelp0007@gmail.com

Ans.4: Steps to activate SOUL 2.0 Product (Get PDF)

There are Two kinds of SOUL 2.0 related keys: One is the Product Key that is generally written on CD-Cover beneath Institute Name. This key is permanent key and cannot be changed and is individually to the Institute.

Another key is "Handshake Key". This key is generated when clicked on "Activate your product" button after installing the SOUL 2.0 Server. This key cannot be changed manually and is generated unique to every machine.

One more key is the Activation Key which is needed to provide with Handshake Key when Activation of SOUL 2.0 Server is required.

To get the Activation Key, contact the SOUL Support Cell either by E-Mail or fax or Letter describing Institute Name as written on the CD, ID Key written on the CD-Cover and Handshake Key without any character mistake.

In return, SOUL Support Cell will contact back by any comfortable means of E-mail or Fax and will provide the Activation Key.

After entering the Activation Key, click on the Button named "Activate".

If the Handshake key provided, ID Key Entered while Installing SOUL 2.0 Server and activation key provided is properly entered then it will give a Successful Activation message.

If such message is given, contact us back to notify the same.

Ans.5: Steps to Set-up the Indic IME Fonts for Regional Langauages (Get PDF)

Through Internet, Go to URL : http://www.bhashaindia.com

Select the languague to download

Select the INDIC IME V 5.1 Fonts for the same

Download the language

Open the downloaded folder and start the setup.

(Note: The above given steps are for Windows Vista Operating System)

Go to Start
Open Control Panel
Open Regional and Language Option
In the language bar tab, select the option to show the task-bar.
Go to Keyboards and Languages
Click on Change Keyboards... option
In the Language Bar tab make sure the option selected is "Docked in the Taskbar"
In General Tab, click on Add button
In the Add Input Language option find and expand the language that has been downloaded from the website
In expanded options, look for the Indic IME Font, for ex., If Punjabi fonts has been downloaded then under Punjabi Language there will be "Punjabi Indic IME V 5.1". select the same.
Click on OK
Click on Apply
Look at the Taskbar where language bar will be shown.
Click on Language Bar and added Keyboard List will be visible to set in Regional and Language Options. Select the keyboard to work out.

Ans.6: Steps to Create DSN (Get PDF)

Go to My Computer

Open Control Panel

Go to Administrative Tools

Open the Data Sources (ODBC) Module

Select the 'User DSN' tab

Click on 'Add'

In 'Create New Data Source' select the SQL Server from Name field.

Click 'Finish'

Enter the following value:

Name : Enter any Name without Spaces,Special Characters like !,@,# etc.
Description : This field is optional. Either keep it blank or type any remarks to remember
Server : Type that Computer's Full Name in which SOUL 2.0 Database

Click 'Next'

In 'How should SQL Server verify the authenticity of the login ID?' select the 'With SQL Server Authentication....' option.

Give the following credentials.

Login ID : sa
Password : SQL Password (If the step named 'Install Database Engine' has been performed from the SOUL 2.0 CD and no changes has been made to password manually in SQL than default SQL Password is 'soul20' otherwise provide the password changed manually)

Click 'Next'
Select the option 'Change the default database to:' option
Select the database to connect.
Click 'Next'
Click 'Finish'
Click 'Test Data Source'
Click 'Ok'
Click 'Ok'
Click 'Ok'

Ans.7: Steps to find Full Computer's Name (Get PDF)

On the Desktop, right-click 'My Computer'

Select Properties option

Select 'Computer Name' tab and look for the field 'Full Computer Name'

It will show the Full Computer Name

Ans.8: Steps to Change SOUL 2.0 Server IP (Get PDF)

Go to Path : C:\program files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20LE or C:\program files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20 and double-click the ClearSOULRegValue.exe

Click on 'Clear Settings.'

Make sure SOUL 2.0 Server is running and if computer is in network then Server Computer and Client Computers are properly connected.

Open the SOUL 2.0 Application, and set the Server IP again.

Note : If computer is Stand-Alone ie. computer is not in the network with any other computer and is also not connected to internet then provide the IP as 127.0.0.1

Ans.9:Steps to take BACKUP of SOUL 2.0 Database

2.1 Taking Backup through SOUL 2.0 Utility (Get PDF)

(Note: Backup/Restore can be done on the Server Computer only so make sure that Backup / Restore Utility is installed on SOUL 2.0 Server Computer only)

Go to My Computer (Or Computer)
Right-Click on CD-ROM and select OPEN option.
Locate the Folder "DBBack" inside the SOUL 2.0 CD, double-click on it and open the folder
Double-Click the "setup.exe" and Install it step-wise.
Open the Backup / Restore Utility from "C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SQLBackupRestoreSetup\SQLDBBackupRestore.exe"
In Connection Properties, Provide the following values:

Server Name : Provide the computer's name in which SOUL Server is installed
User Name : Provide "sa"
Password : Provide sa Password
Press Connect

Select the Database from "Database Name" of which Backup has to be taken
Select the Path by clicking on Browse Backup needs to be stored.
Click on (Backup) button

2.2 Taking Backup through "SQL Server Management Studio" (Get PDF)

(Note : In case you do not have "SQL Server Management Studio", To take BACKUP in SOUL 2.0, it is recommended to download the same from the below link:

Go To Start
Go to All Programs
Go to Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Click on SQL Server Management Studio

Server Name = Computer Name on which the SQL Server lies
Authentication = SQL Server Authentication
Login = sa
Password = ( SA Password )
On Left-Hand Side, select the Database under the Databases option of which
Backup has to be taken
Right-click the database, select Task, select Backup.
In Source -> Database = Database of which Backup has to be taken
In Destination -> Click 'Add' and Select the path on which Backup needs to be stored (Note: Make sure that backup is stored on some safe path which is more safe than other paths regarding virus attack.)
Click 'OK.'
On Successful completion it will give a success message otherwise it will give warning.
In case a warning/error is there, Forward the same with possibly a Screen Shot to us. (Note: See 3. How to take Screen Shot? for further process.)

Ans.10:Steps to Restore a Backup of SOUL 2.0 Database?

3.1 Restoring Backup through SOUL 2.0 Utility (Get PDF)

(Note: Make sure that the Backup / Restore Utility is installed on SOUL 2.0 Server Computer only)

Open the Backup / Restore Utility from "C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SQLBackupRestoreSetup\SQLDBBackupRestore.exe"
In Connection Properties, Provide the following values:

Server Name : Provide the computer's name in which SOUL Server is installed
User Name : Provide "sa"
Password : Provide sa Password
Press Connect
On Successful Connection with the server, it'll give Success message

Select the Database from "Database Name" on which backup needs to be restored
Select the Path by clicking on Browse where Backup is stored.
Click on (Restore) button

3.2 Restoring Backup through "SQL Server Management Studio" (Get PDF)

(Note : In case you do not have "SQL Server Management Studio", it is recommended to download the same from the below link:

Go To Start
Go to All Programs
Go to Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Click on SQL Server Management Studio

Server Name = Computer Name on which the SQL Server lies
Authentication = SQL Server Authentication
Login = sa
Password = ( SA Password )
On Left-Hand Side, Right Click the 'Databases' and select 'Restore Database...' option.
In 'To Database' field, either select the name of database on which to restore the backup or Give a new name of the database that to create and restore.
In 'Source for Restore' part, Select 'From Device' option, and browse the Backup File in the path where it is stored. Select that file, and give Ok.
In the 'Select Backup sets to restore' option, generally there would be a single file so select that single file and on the left hand side select 'Options' page. (Note: It is possible that in 'Select Backup sets to restore' option more than one sets is shown in that case select the one that is latest on the date.)
In Option page, select the option 'Overwrite the existing database' as default
Click 'Ok.'

Ans.11: Steps to resolve Error If @ symbol is in Handshake Key

In case SOUL 2.0 Server generates Handshake Key or ask Activation Key again and that key has '@' symbol in it then this key is not proper and SOUL Server has been started more than once.

Ans.12: Steps if SOUL 2.0 Application asks CD (Get PDF)

Close the SOUL 2.0 Application and Server both, if running

Go to My Computer

Go to the path : C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20 Or C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20LE

In SOUL20 OR SOUL20LE Folder, Go to View

Select the Details Option

Now locate the file named SOUL, and its type will be written as 'Application'

Right Click the same, and select the option Send To -> Desktop.

On Desktop, look for the Icon named 'Shortcut to SOUL'

Double - Click that and SOUL 2.0 Application will start

Now delete the old Icon through which SOUL 2.0 Application used to start previously

Ans.13:Stpes to resolve Error [12502] Invalid Object Name. (Get PDF)

The perticular error is occuring because the Database for SOUL 2.0 has not been created properly. Perform the following steps to resolve the same error:

Insert the SOUL 2.0 CD
Click on 'Create Database for SOUL 2.0' step.
Select 'Remove' option
Click 'Finish'
Again Click on 'Create Database for SOUL 2.0' step
Provide the following values:

Server Name : Computer's Full Name
Database Name : Some New Database name which is not existing
User Name : sa
Password : SQL Password (By Default : soul20)

Click 'Next'
Click 'Next'
Click 'Next'
Click 'Finish' if the succesfull message has come about DSN
Create the New DSN again
