Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Gandhinagar is an Autonomous Inter-University Centre (IUC) of University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. It is a major National Programme initiated by the UGC in March 1991 with its Head Quarters at Gujarat University Campus, Ahmedabad. Initially started as a project under the IUCAA, it became an independent Inter-University Centre in June 1996.

The President of India, Honourable Shri Pranab Mukherjee, presented an award to Dr. Jagdish Arora, Director, and Shri Abhishek Kumar, Scientist C (CS), INFLIBNET Centre for their commendable contribution to digital initiatives for higher education. The award was presented to them during the National Convention on Digital initiatives held on 9th July 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The NDLTD Leadership Award 2017 was conferred to Dr. Jagdish Arora, Director, INFLIBNET Centre and Sh. Manoj Kumar K., Scientist-D(CS), INFLIBNET Centre during August 7-9, 2017 at Washington, DC, USA. The Award is instituted by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) since 2004 and hosted by United States ETD Association (USetdA) in 2017.

INFLIBNET Access Management Federation (INFED), the first Federation in India, has adopted Shibboleth, a standard-based open source software, for authenticating authorized users from colleges and universities and provide them seamless access to e-resources from anywhere, anytime.
IRINS is web-based Research Information Management (RIM) service which facilitates the academic, R&D organisations to collect, curate and showcase the scholarly communication activities and provide an opportunity to create the scholarly network.
INFLIBNET Subject Gateway for Indian Electronic Resources is designed to facilitate registering of an Internet resource into the portal and extending its access to users. INFOPORT supports browsing of Internet resources by Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) Scheme
